"Maya clutched the box tighter, thinking of Kofi's promise: 'I'll find you again.' She hoped like hell he was right. Because as much as she hated to admit it, she was starting to miss his annoying glow, his terrible jokes, his constant hovering."
Thematically, these chapters show what the story's really about: finding harmony without losing what makes you different. Maya doesn't pick between her dad's music or her mom's, she mixes both. She doesn't destroy the villain; she finds a way to include her. And with Kofi, their impossible connection (girl meets quantum ghost) actually transforms them both into something new. It's a story about identity, first love, and legacy told through West African culture and magical music. Basically: different things can work together beautifully if you let them.
