I think your descriptions of grief and depression have the ring of authenticity about them. I lost a brother to suicide, too - it’s 14 years today and it still hurts, although the pain dulls with time. I would be glad to talk with you about it some time.
Meanwhile, keep writing, but be careful not to overwrite. I think you don’t need to hit your reader over the head with the message. Try to pare down the descriptions of your character’s moods and visions, and let the character’s actions do more of the talking. Just a thought.
