Happy New Year, everyone! I've begun something new here on Wattpad: an ongoing nature journal (of sorts): Green Mind Seeing. I just posted the first part, "Standing Water". I do plan on posting more science fiction, fantasy, etc in the coming year, but I'm also planning on mixing things up with some wide-ranging non-fiction essays. In short, you'll be seeing all sorts of things from me this year!
The final ghost story of the month, "Dead Text", is up! It's public, but remember, if you want to access ALL of this month's ghost stories, you'll need to follow me because the first 2 are private. I've enjoyed doing ghost stories all month and hope you've enjoyed reading them. Happy Halloween, everyone! :)
The final part of "The Ice Cream Castle" ghost story has been posted! The story is complete. Next Friday I'll post a brand new ghost story that I've just finished. Thanks so much to all who have been reading along all this week as I've posted the sections of The Ice Cream Castle!
Just posted: The first part of The Ice Cream Castle, a ghost story which I've broken into five parts for Wattpad publication. I'll post a new part every day this week, with the story concluding on Friday. The story (nearly 10,000 words) was originally published on my blog. I've tried to make the Wattpad breaks follow the natural story breaks (as we look at events in the past and present). Enjoy the Prologue today! :)
For some reason today's story, Doug's Night Out, was only showing as being published within the app. I've now also published it via the web, so if any followers initially had trouble finding it, you should be able to see it now. (If you still can't see it, please check to make sure you're following me, as this one is visible only to followers.) Thanks for reading!
Another ghost story is up! "Doug's Night Out" is an older story, and honestly, a favorite of mine. I don't say that very often about my own stuff. It deals with some mature and heavy themes, so it's both marked as mature and is also private, so you need to be following me to read it.
The first ghost story is up! I'm experimenting with the privacy option, so you'll need to follow me to see it. This is a little campfire ghost story...and yes, I know that campfires aren't allowed most places these days, but to tell a campfire story about fire I had to take a bit of literary license. Enjoy the story!
Wow. Just noticed that my most recent short story, Etiquette for the End of the World, is *ranked* in Science Fiction! (Not high, but out of all the thousands of SF stories in Wattpad it's gotten enough attention to be ranked!) Thank you all for reading, commenting, and adding it to your library! Stay tuned for ghost stories this month, starting this Friday!
Ghost Stories for October! Here's the publication schedule for short stories this month. The first 2 stories will be private, so only followers will have access to them. (Something I'm experimenting with.) The others will be public. Follow if you want to read all of them!
Oct 7: Ashes
Oct 14: Doug's Night Out
Oct 17-21: The Ice Cream Castle (Divided into 5 parts, one part daily Mon-Fri of that week.)
Oct 28-31? I've started brainstorming a new ghost story which I hope to have finished by the 28th, or Halloween at the latest.
BOO! :)
