Hello there :-) I saw your post on the "Looking for new stories" thread, on the Fantasy club, and I have a feeling that my novel might suit your request well, in case you're still looking for something.
          
          As you asked, it is a standalone fantasy story, based on a completely original setting which does not feature vampires, werewolves, or really any of the "traditional" races you might expect from the fantasy genre. I'm not fully sure it is heavy as far as "magical creatures" go, as the focus is more on sentient beings and supernatural entities such as spirits, but as long as what you're looking for is something "fresh" or "original", I think you won't be dissatisfied^^
