Born in Lansing, Michigan, in 1988, Alexis was a homeschooled child whose first friends were books. She started attending college courses when she was 14 to supplement her education, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Linguistics from Michigan State University in 2013. She's been playing the violin and has a deep love for film critique, but her idea of paradise is a quiet room where she can write in uninterrupted bliss. Her idea of nirvana is doing that, and actually managing to make a living.
