-The heart was small and quivering, slick with blood and woven with silk-thin veins. It had just arrived today, still fresh between two pieces of saran wrap and plastered with those 30 cent Charlie Brown Christmas stamps. The boy had always preferred working with fresh hearts (decaying flesh always gave off that God-awful smell). -
