The following information should be read carefully and not taken too seriously.
Writers Diarrhea: (Cue immature giggle)
A problem that's kind of the opposite to writers block, the sufferer spouts a large quantity of tedious and unnecessary information in the wrong place.
Common symptoms include:
('Product placement') Irritating descriptions, normally of an outfit or makeup, which describes the exact color and brand name of every item despite it having no relevance to the characters or plot.
('Lets get it over with at the start') A long description of every part of a characters life soon after they are first introduced. This will normally include, but not be limited to, a detailed description of the characters appearance including the things you really didn't need to know; a narrative of the characters past and a summery of their personality (e.g. She was a good girl really but a little difficult to get along with). This will often have the effect of you later feeling that the characters actions do not in any way match their described personality.
('Pointless speech') Short conversations between two already well acquainted characters that runs along the lines of "Hi." "Hi."
'Pointless speech' can also be an extension of 'lets get it over with at the start' where a character states their opinions and feelings on something without reason.
Please tell me of any developments you see in the progression of this problem in anyone you know. I really would like to find out if there is a possible cure.
