@SarahPerlmutter I just saw this, so sorry for the late reply! I thought THE BLAST was very well written! You saw the main characters mature quickly on some levels while still being children on other levels. The teenage angst was still there which I loved. You saw how not actually going through the grief process  can stifle growth and how if one spends too much time grieving can negatively impact others as well. I liked how we, the readers, see that all relations don't pass the test time of time and it's life. It's post apocalyptic but still very real which is much appreciated. So thank you for writing such a great book!
