I have an important question for anyone who cares (probably no one)! I must explain the situation first, though.
I think I might do my fnaf fanfic in multiple smaller books that span a shorter amount of time, which would replace my original plan to write one large story that goes from the first shift all the way to the events of fnaf 3.
Now, here's my question: Do you think it's a good idea?
Whether your opinions will sway which way I go, I'd like to know if you prefer one over the other. I do aim to please! This question has been bugging me for a while, and is one of the biggest reasons I haven't published much yet, seeing as the amount of detail and events is directly related to the answer.
The reason I'm shooting for multiple books in an arc is because I think there are many pros:
-More character development
-More interpersonal development
-Other characters will have more action
-You can see more into the lives/thoughts/feelings of all characters
-Feels more real
But it makes the story progress slower. The end won't come for a long time if I go this route, because smaller events that contribute to character growth and development will be taking most of the spotlight.
Don't get me wrong, a long story would have the little things, too, just less. And the other characters would be more "background."
Imagine it like google earth. The big story would be like being zoomed out. You can see the big picture in relative detail. But the multiple SMALL stories are like zooming in to see specific things, and the world becomes more 3D and lifelike around you.
So, to reiterate, would you rather see a single giant story or a bunch of little ones in an arc, like Warrior Cats?
