So I’m sure many of you have heard of the Charlie Kirk assassination that happened yesterday. Personally, I thought he was a jerk and not a great dude, but I don’t think he deserved to be shot because of his political beliefs, especially right in front of his wife and two kids. I also want to tell anyone who may be reading this something: I highly recommend NOT searching for the assassination video. I was unfortunate enough to see it and it ruined my entire day. I’m prob screaming into the void rn but I’m too tired to care lol. Stay safe yall

This is gonna be a really big rant into the void so anyone seeing this be ready.
Ever since the Roblox v. Schlep situation, I feel like everything online has been going in a downward spiral, on Roblox and off of it as well. I’m seeing games I used to enjoy playing like WoF Roblox be torn apart by disgusting allegations and poor moderation teams. Over the last week, I’ve seen multiple games besides WoF Roblox be torn apart by this internal drama as well. It’s kinda like the purge tbh, no one gives a shit anymore and people are starting to discover that. It’s that mob mentality of “If these big companies like Roblox, Discord, etc. can get away with not caring about child safety or proper moderation methods, why should we?”, and it’s starting to get to me tbh. Idk if anyone else is feeling this way or if this is just some rant that makes no sense because I’m half asleep while writing this lol

@NapalmWaters Yup. It really fucking sucks. Every corner of the internet has been infected. Roblox quite literally just paved the way for everyone and now, like you said, every community is being fucked in the ass by creeps and/or greedy individuals. And now the solution they are giving everyone: THE SAME SHITTY AI MODERATION. All that YouTube, Roblox and other companies have done about anything is glaze the living shit outta AI (even after Roblox’s AI moderation terminated David Baszucki’s official account). It quite literally has spread to each corner of the internet. I watch a lot of VRChat trolling vids (pls don’t play that game pls bro it’s fucking hell) and apparently they’ve changed their ToS to make it so they aren’t responsible for children getting groomed on their platform (which happens constantly tbh). Until governments actually start doing stuff besides filing lawsuits, no one is gonna have to do diddly squat and shit is gonna get even worse than it already is.

@Apealio also I think it's been interesting to see how internet spaces meant to be gated off for CHILDREN SPECIFICALLY have still become cesspools for creeps wanting to take advantage of these spaces (YouTube kids elsagate, rampant predators and poor Roblox moderation, etc). I feel like growing up on places like wattpad and youtube has become increasingly sad watching the companies exert more and more control over what innocent users and creators can do, while actual rings of pedophiles and terrible people have been completely allowed to thrive due to poor moderation and website design (similar to the YouTube full stop punctuation glitch from a few years ago). and now the same thing is happening with Roblox it seems

@Apealio it's this thing with the internet I've seen where every small community space eventually gets taken over and/or ruined by either big companies trying to make a profit, or by losers and pedophiles. there really is no 100% safe space for children anymore on the internet, which is depressing and scary given how the internet has become increasingly prominent within the lives of young people
