Update on the Sequel to Beyond the Rings: The Legacy of the Last Age

          	Hi everyone!

I wanted to share a quick update about the sequel to Beyond the Rings: The Legacy of the Last Age. The story is currently going through some major edits and restructuring, so I’ve decided to postpone the release of the sequel for now.

You can already start to see some of these changes taking shape — the prologue and first chapter have been revised and expanded, so if you’d like to revisit them, you might notice a few surprises woven into the new version. ✨

In the meantime, I’ve been working on a series of essays on the films, which I’ll be posting on Instagram and Facebook. These will dive into themes, character interpretations, and the bridges between Tolkien’s world and my own adaptation. I’m hoping they’ll spark some meaningful conversations — I’d love to hear your thoughts and interpretations once they’re up.

The story itself will continue in April 2026, picking up in the 15th year of the Fourth Age. The sequel will be split into two parts:
          		•	Years 1–15, tracing the quiet rebuild of the world; and
          		•	Year 15–16, when the Ascension in the North of King Elessar takes place.

Thank you so much for your patience, kindness, and continued support. I promise that what’s coming next will be worth the wait.

          	With love and gratitude,
          	This Author

Thirdly:

          Let’s call this:

“Of Plot Holes & Unexpected Romantic Encounters”

So… last night I rewatched The Hobbit movies (again ) and noticed another delicious plot hole that I fully plan to exploit in the books. Let’s talk Legolas, Bolg, and the Missing Horse.

We all saw Legolas leave Lake-town in pursuit of Bolg — on horseback, in the extended version — but then… nothing.

          No fight.
          No clear destination.
          No follow-up.

The next time we see him, he’s suddenly back with Tauriel and heading to Gundabad.
          So… where did he go?
          What happened in between?
          Did he lose Bolg?
Or did he lose to Bolg?
Did he just… not catch up?
          Take a detour?
Or did the editors just decide we didn’t deserve that scene?

I’m sorry, but that kind of gap is catnip to me.
          Plot hole? Yes. Deliciously yes.
And one I will be keeping in my back pocket…

As for you, dear reader — be ready to find out what made Legolas return to Dale empty-handed (horseback or not), and what forced him to ride off again with Tauriel to Gundabad.

Also — while I’m on a roll — how pathetic was that love triangle our prince, our captain, and the tallest dwarf had to endure?

I still can’t stand it, and it’s been like… ten years.
It felt so forced. Tauriel deserved better. She didn’t need to be defined by two broody men vying for her attention — she’s the Captain of the King’s Guard in friggin’ Mirkwood!

          And our golden boy…
Why do they always give him the worst lines?
He’s standing there, watching Tauriel and Kíli talk, and then Kíli throws the mother card — and boom! Next thing we know, Legolas is repeating it on a mountaintop in Gundabad of all places?

I can feel Tolkien tossing in his grave. Valar forgive me…

Anyway, just thought I’d share my late-night Tolkien thoughts.

As you were, my fellow lore-loving night owls.

Oh!
          Hello there!
I just wanted to say a few things…

          Firstly:
Could this conversation tab be any cooler?

          Secondly:
I just discovered the ability to post here, so I thought I’d share a small update with you all.

Recently, I injured my upper back, and unfortunately, it’s not just a muscular issue — it’s neurological, which makes it extremely difficult for me to sit down and write as we speak… so I’m just going to do this with my left hand.

Typing one-handed is awkward, definitely a first for me — and maybe just a little surreal.

Now, stay tunes for the main thing…

Thank you for being patient with me as I heal. More soon
