I recently asked myself, "Why do I write?" "Why does storytelling fascinate me?" "Out of all the hobbies in the world, why did writing capture me?" To my surprise I couldn't properly answer it. 📝
I took a step back to reevaluate and came up with this: I don't write because I have to. I don't write because I have something important to share with the world. I don't write because I have a bunch of ideas that if I don't get them down my head will explode (okay, maybe sometimes). I write to explore personalities different from mine. 📔
Being the introverted person I am, I find it difficult to interact with people - let alone get words out of my mouth - but at the same time, I'm still curious.
I still want to. 📚
Writing helps me step into the shoes of others while still being at a distance - which I suppose is called the "comfort zone" - and allows me to explore myself in more depth and familiarize myself with new perspectives. 📖
I honestly don't know how many stories I will write - let alone post - but I do know that I enjoy the process. Even when I look back at incomplete stories I know I will never come back to. Even when I look at my completed stories and know some of them won't be read.
At the end of the day, it's writing and storytelling that I love. 🖋
What can I say? 😉
