They say it is going to snow here in Tahoe this week. Winter is coming early and so is my 2025 Holiday short story/Christmas present to my Wattpad friends. It is now posted. I’m continuing a six-year tradition of posting a new short story for the holiday season. All of the six stories are found in the collection “Christmas at Joe’s.”

          	https://www.wattpad.com/story/378525533-christmas-at-joes
This year’s story is “Santa Baby.” It has an introduction, a prolog and nine short chapters and is the last story in the collection. The stories are in order of the year they were posted. If you haven’t read the previous stories, you may want to check them out. If you have read them, you might want to read them again. All are relatively short. Honestly, I enjoy re-reading them each year. You don’t need to have read the previous stories to enjoy any of them. The following link will take you to this year’s story:

I apologize if parts of “Santa Baby” come off sort of silly, but after all ‘tis the season to be jolly, Fa-la-la-la-lah, la-la-la-lah.

Hi Joe, how are things? Just got internet, so I will start publishing again my laptop and tablet don't have cellular connection. So, probably in a day or two, I will publish and complete Devastation and Despair.

It figures we get settled in, things organized, and used to the place. Then the Government shuts down. Liz is still working only because the Air Force is still paying her. They are not being paid so my income and what little Sarah makes is it.

I can say it is beautiful here, I can see mountains and trees. The wind isn't constantly blowing. I am about an hour from the Smokey Mountains. I have already hiked several miles. I think Liz really likes what she is doing.

She can come home and talk about. So she is much happier. Well just thought I would let you know all is good. I hope you and the family are doing great. Take care Joe.

I will be taking down the Metaverse in a couple of weeks. I feel it is a bit too risqué for my tastes and several people pointed out parts that were offensive. I admit that a lot of that was my attempt to appeal to a wider audience, but it apparently didn't work. I may get around to rewriting it for next year's Amby awards or I may not.
On a more pleasant note, my annual Christmas short story will be posted soon following one last edit.

@CFarley982 I think I have to read it sooner before you will take it down then. Also, looking forward to your Christmas story! ❤️

@CFarley982 - I will read your Christmas story too! I suffer from fatigue and unfortunately, can't read much, it makes me feel bad, as I like to support my fellow writers, but that's just life. I will try and get back to reading your Vision Quest.

@CFarley982 - I think a writer has to write from the heart not to please others. I dislike four letter words, hate them even, and won't write them to please my readers. Our own personalities must come through in our writing, whatever they may be and that is the way to go. Just adding my penny worth!

@CFarley982 Wow, amazing. Image the time it took to organise that, and the kid on the guitar, what a talent. The main singer did a great job.

Garrison Keillor is an American humorist who has entertained Americans for years on his radio program "A Prairie Home Companion." He is perhaps the quintessential American humorist in the spirit of Mark Twain. I subscribe to his email newsletter and recently listen to one of his podcasts. I was so moved by it that I just have to share it. Here is the link:

@CFarley982 thanks for sharing. Mayo Clinic description reminded me of our Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. Every single person there from doctor to administrator to cafeteria worker will stop what they’re doing and help you if you’re lost. Most of the time you don’t even have to ask, just stop and look confused and they’ll ask if you need help. That level of concern makes you feel safe in a place that can be scary.

How does everyone feel about the Wattpad notifications when someone likes one of your comments? I appreciate that my comments are liked, but is there any value to the anonymous notifications other than to flood one's mailbox? I'd much rather get return comments even if it is just an emoji at least I know who it is from.

Thanks for reading, Joe. Well, I have made it to Tennessee. We got moved in last week on Wednesday. Finally got the internet working today. What a trip. We had three people, three cats and one dog. Stuck in Ford Festiva, what a 900 and few miles trip that was.

Almost settled in, a few things left to get done. I can say it's good to see hills and mountains again. Also, there are plenty of trees. Well, take care, and again, thanks for reading.
