So... the forums might be closed but @lisa_london_ has helped me find a new home on the Flirting with Thirty discord server.

If you're heading to thirty (or are older) and LOVE writing, I seriously recommend it. It's a swell group of people, all looking to talk writing and nonsense. Original fic or fanfic does not matter, so long as you have a passion for good reads and working on your own craft.

@CMBaggs According to a page on Wattpad, they took down the forums because there were a lot of complaints from people. However, I wonder if the complaints were from people that said something on the communities and received backlash. Whether it was somebody attacking fanfiction authors or somebody that attacked another writer and received criticism for their actions? One of the main reasons for why I joined this site was because of the community aspect of things.

@Aouregan yeah, and I can't figure out for the life of me why they did it. I thought the good outweighed the bad in the forums' case.

@CMBaggs I am sad to see that the forums are gone. It feels like a lot of the community has gone as a result.

Yay! I finally pulled the trigger and added Chapter 25 to https://www.wattpad.com/story/195787819-between-the-raindrops. In which I really earn that M rating.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and take care of yourselves.

 Why thank you.

How do you guys feel about voting on your own work?

You wrote it, why wouldn't you love it? Do you consider it 'cheating' or is it fair considering how silly the algorithm is on Wattpad? Just wondering how other people feel about this.

CMBaggs

@Aouregan don't feel bad! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

@CMBaggs I feel bad for saying it, but I feel that voting for your own work is a form of cheating, especially on a platform like Wattpad where you've got to work your way to the top based on your ratings. It's like leaving a review to your own work... at least if I were to compare it to anything.
