Well, damn. Looks like wattpad is removing its dm feature, which is kinda bullshit. I get that people were targeting kids, but then just make dms 18+. Simple, no kids can chat with predators. Most people use dms to talk about things they might not be comfortable saying on someone's public feed where it's there for all eyes to see. No need to delete the feature entirely. There's also stuff you might wanna talk about privately with people, sharing info and talking about sensitive things. People won't be able to chat as freely as before because they know anyone can see what they're putting out there. How are people supposed to bond and become friends on wattpad when they know what they tell others must be limited because of prying eyes? It's honestly not a very good decision.
