I'm 16, I want to become an author because I want to tell stories. Ever since I was a kid I loved coming up with stories, The very first story I wrote was based off of lord of the rings and hobbit and it was titled, Corey the Hobbit. Not the best name looking back at it. But I loved it I drew the characters, it wasn't any good since I was 8 at the time neither was the story. But it's how I got started. I sort of forgot about writing for a while until my friend introduced to me a little game called Dungeons and Dragons. I became the Dungeon Master for our group of 4 and created a new short story every time we played. Sadly again I found myself forgetting about how much I enjoyed writing stories and stopped playing D&D partially cause my group "separated". Anyway after a while of just playing video games, and watching anime, I finally decided to pick up a book "Howl's Moving castle" by Diana Wynne Jones. After falling in love with Studio Ghibli's animated movie I decided to pick up the book. And absolutely loved it, around this time is when my friend suggested that I start writing to get away from my phone, tv, screens. Inspired by Diana Wynne Jones's writing and the music required to match the mood I began writing "The Man and The Mask" (not sure if I'm gonna keep that title). It being the first real story i've written I'm now on chapter 5 and planning to write an entire book! So far everyone that I've had read it has thoroughly enjoyed it and had been surprised by what I wrote, I was too. I'm hoping that I can get my story or any story i end up writing published.
