Hey readers and fellow writers!

So, what might I reveal of myself in this here bio? Well, for one thing, I love to write and I love to read. I think the two go hand-in-hand. When I read, I am inspired to write, and when I write, I crave a good story.

Writing a story takes a lot of patience, dedication, and passion. I remember reading this quote on the writing process and how it is like a marriage. I cannot remember the exact source for this quote, but to paraphrase: writing a story demands many of the components marriage needs in order to hold together. Both require a lot of patience, dedication, passion, and time.

The writing process is overwhelming. Being married to an idea that progressively becomes immensely complicated can be very overwhelming. So much so, the first option is to toss it off and embark on a new idea. But before I consider giving up on an idea, I recount on how I felt before the frustration. I remain committed to the project because in the end, it's all worth it.

My niche in the writing world is fiction. And I tend to venture off to other genres. Fiction is a huge umbrella, and it would be criminal to remain stagnant in one of its subcategories. Fantasy, young adult, Romance, and horror are just some of the many subcategories of fiction I like to explore.

What gravitates me to a book is content. I'm a sucker for a compelling plot. But really, I come for the plot but stay for the characters. A superb book to me must have a dynamic array of characters. Nothing worse than reading the synopsis for a book, find yourself interested enough to read it, and realize how flat and static the characters are. Blech! Aside from great, meaningful characters, I love figurative language. Metaphors, symbolism, and foreshadowing are necessary decorations to a story, and when writing, I love implementing them into my story. I feel they give it flavor.

Well, that's all folks!
