Was just going through our earlier matches and came across this one..not really sure how I missed it..it was our 3rd odi against NZ and it was 44th over and some fast bowler bowled for mahi which he missed it and it passed very close to the bat and due to the heat of the game, umpire thought he might have edged it and didn't signal a wide..mahi turned around and looked at umpire after which he realised it's a wide and changed his decision..and then kane's reaction to all this is truly adorable..it reminded me of some other odi which I didn't remember exactly but was against aus and John Hastings bowled a straight ball inline with middle stump and it hit mahi pads and John appealed for lbw and when everybody thought it was out he showed his bat and umpire didn't give him out and John went on to ask dhoni for which he said there was a nick and John moved with complete satisfaction..and commentator was saying "Hastings has been the part of csk..whoever plays with dhoni or against dhoni knows what character he has"..honestly have never seen any cricketer being respected this much..he earned every bit of it over the years with his honesty and playing the game in the true spirit that even the opponents believe him that he would never be dishonest in the game..there is a reason why millions of people love him so religiously and everyone who plays with him speaks of him so highly..for someone to be in the limelight for 20+ years and has never been salty to any of the players speaks volumes of his character (unlike some cricketers who never leaves a chance to take a dig at him for which he doesn't even give a ****)..I love him...I love him to the infinity and beyond..(his teary eyes in post match interview during his test retirement in 2014 still haunts me:)
