So I apologize for being MIA since May, but I have a good reason. I have been busy with my next to last semester of college. I only have one more semester to go until I am finished. However, this next semester will be even more chaotic because I will be student teaching. I have every intention of continuing my story. However, my story may be on hold for a bit.

One more thing: in the musical “Hamilton,” John Laurens really hit the nail on the head when he said we would never truly be free until those in bondage have the same rights as you me. They have been battling for their rights since that time, and they have yet to fully obtain their right to live life, to have liberty, and to pursue happiness. They may not be facing bondage in the same way that he speaks of, but they are in a modern form of bondage, the bondage of a never ending cycle of oppression and death. It’s disturbing to see that the USA hasn’t progressed in the area of equality in 60 years. I took a 60s literature class this past semester, and we actually talked about the civil rights movement, and we talked about how police violence was common during that time. They say history has a way of repeating itself, and it’s true. History is repeating itself right now, and it will continue to repeat itself unless we as a country have a change of heart. We as country need to have a change of heart for the future generations. I stand with the oppressed, and I will fight with you.
