Hey there, bud! I'm Thane!

I love studying various cultures and global history. I strive to include elements of, or inspired by, authentic and diverse history into my novels. Research plays a big role in my world building process. I'm transgender and homoromantic asexual, so I try to provide LGBTQIA+ perspectives into my novels.

I have two main settings in which I write; both original, but heavily influenced by history.

The elder of the two, Saola, is a predominantly European-flavored high fantasy world, with Revès at its heart. The country of Revès mixes traits from the French Baroque, Italian Renaissance, and Edwardian England into one singularly passionate, influential, and drama-prone nation. I've been working on this setting for over 9 years now.

My younger novel setting is the world of the Xuyan, named for the titular nation of Xuyan. This setting started out as with the intent of a classical Wuxia story before quickly turning into a nitty-gritty look at life in the Ancient Chinese Imperial Court, drawing mostly from Romance Of The Three Kingdoms, before eventually expanding on other fictional countries inspired by real East Asian history such as Mongol Empire and Korea under Japanese rule.

I'm always happy to chat about Saola, Xuyan, history, or worldbuilding. Cheers!
