          Just wanted to apologize, I definitely dropped the ball last weekend and completely forgot to update the book club. For everyone who read the assignment even though I didn't comment, thank you, I appreciate the initiative <3 I will not be handing out any strikes this week.

          As the year draws to a close and the holidays approach, I think it is perhaps best to go on hiatus for the club until the new year. It's a busy time for everyone, so to make it easy (and keep it fun!), we will resume our usual book club readings on January 8th, 2018 (1/8/18). 
          
          Hope everyone's holidays are filled with warmth and cheer! I look forward to seeing you all in 2018! <3

Hey everyone! Got a few announcements:

          Second—We have a new Spotlight author for August. Congratulations to @AnOctoberPepper and if you'd like a chance to be the Spotlight author for September, please remember to check out her book Dystopian Novels and leave useful feedback!
          
          Lastly, I just want to remind everyone that when leaving comments, please be constructive in your criticism. The goal of this book club is to help each other improve our writing and our stories. If you feel a story can be improved, just tell the author what you think needs to be fixed. Things such as deepening POV, introducing character motivation/goals and conflict can all be adjusted. There's no need to insult a story or its author with aimless criticism. Diplomatic approaches are much more likely to persuade someone.

          I'm super sorry but I am dropping off the face of the earth for two weeks and completely unplugging so will need to take a short break from Conjuction-Junction. I'll be back at the end of July. I really appreciate everyone taking the time to read and comment on my book and am looking forward to getting back to reading all of yours.

Couple of announcements!

          Next up, congrats to @leahcanscience for being our Spotlight Author for June! Please remember to check out her book Immortal Mistakes and leave helpful comments for a chance to be the next Spotlight. For more information about the Spotlight, please refer to the club's chapter "Book of the Month."
          
          Lastly, everyone will have TWO WEEKS for their assignments this time. I will not be updating the club next weekend, which means you guys have until June 18th to do your assignment. Club proceedings will resume as normal on the 18th :)

Can I join? I don't have a book I want to add yet but I do want to review other books and make new SFF-writing friends.

I messed up a bit this month, totally forgot to reset the Spotlight book. Does anyone actually feel this feature is useful, or should we do away with this element of the club? Let me know...
