You've read Christian books, and most are afraid to admit there are terrible things in our world, and if they do admit it, they try to make it fast and blend into the lightheartedness of the rest of their story. I am not afraid to address the darkest problems in our world. I use fiction too to immerse you and to show you that there is light in the darkest places.
