Happy holidays! Y'all thought I was done posting stories until next year, huh? (Probably because that's what I said the plan was.) But think again!
          
          Armani Anderson hosts the other doyens and their teams and loved ones at her branch outpost in Yellowtusk for an evening of festive merriment. Elsewhere in the Valley Strip, Curtis, Sly, and Mabel are each celebrating in their own ways.
          
          Finishing off the year, I have a bonus chapter for Wanted! For context, this chapter takes place roughly two-and-a-half years before the start of the main series.
          
          I'm calling it 'Bonus #1' in case I ever have more bonus chapters and I don't have to rename this one. But what do I mean by bonus chapter? This chapter does not have a major impact on the greater story told through the main chapters. There are a few new characters we haven't seen yet in the main series, but if they're important, you can bet you'll get more fleshed out content with them in the future.
          
          My goal with any bonus chapters is just to have fun with some low-stakes conflict that lets me flesh out some of the characters and relationships on a more casual level. Again, nothing too detrimental to the whole story. You aren't going to be confused if you skip this one before the next set of chapters for Book 3 come out and you won't be missing any key character development. I just had an idea and rolled with it. So, if you've been wanting a little winter western fun, give this one a read!
          
          More stories are to come in the new year, and Wanted Book 3 is currently planned for Summer 2025. I hope you're looking forward to it.

The last chapter of Wanted book 2, chapter 26, is out now! Titled 'In The Eyes of an Angel.'
          
          The gang investigates the now vacant ranch once owned and lived in by Midnight. Peace never lasts long for outlaws in the Valley Strip, however, as the White Snakes aren't far behind and prepare to end Curtis's journey once and for all.
          
          Not a lot to say about this one. I just want to thank everyone who has continued to keep up with the series (and everyone catching up who hadn't kept up). It means so much to me that a passion project like this series could be read and enjoyed by others. Thank you very much!
          
          Shout out to my proofreaders and editors who have helped make this series even better. I plan to take a break like I did between books 1 & 2, so chapter 27 won't be out until (probably) early summer/late spring of 2025. Until then, I'll be planning it all out and making sure it's the best it can be before I release the chapters.

Wanted chapter 25 is here! Titled 'To Where It All Began.'
          
          The gang faces off against the other two members of Angel Eyes's group, the White Snakes. They also discover an unlikely ally and have a close call with the doyen himself.
          
          Here it is, the penultimate chapter of Wanted "book 2." I had previously referred to these sections of wanted (the first section being chapters 1-13 and this section being chapters 14-26) as "series" or "parts" or "seasons," but "books" seems most fitting since this is a written medium.
          
          How exciting! Maybe it's premature to say, but it's been another long road to reach this point in the series and I'm very thankful to everyone who has kept up with each chapter. I was debating whether to post chapters 25 and 26 together like I had chapters 12 and 13, but I think there's a bit more separation between these two and that there could be some benefit to having time between them. I hope you aren't too upset at having to wait for the final chapter of book 2!
          
          This one is pretty much all action, so it's a quick read and hopefully an exhilarating one! We get to see what the other two members of the White Snakes have in store and even a sneak peak at the doyen himself: Angel Eyes. I won't say any more than that. Wanted chapter 24 is out now! Titled 'Ever Closer.'
          
          Minutes 'til Midnight introduces Curtis, Sly, and Mabel to someone with plentiful knowledge of spells, the Government's Mystic Program, and Midnight, as well as the potential link between all three.

Wanted chapter 23 is out now! Titled 'Overwrite the Wrong.'
          
          Sly and Curtis are determined to cure Mabel of her dread of returning to Thorntree. To do so, they plan a surprise that will help right the wrongs associated with her hometown.
          
          There haven't been a ton of slow chapters in part 2 of Wanted, so this was a nice change of pace. (Spoilers, not much action in this chapter.) I think the good times had in this chapter are well deserved, though, and hopefully the characters get to feel a bit of joy for a little while before getting thrust back into the heat.

Wanted chapter 22 is here! Titled "The Greatest Show."
          
          After escaping the clutches of the White Snakes through the generosity of the rangers, Curtis, Sly, and Mabel meet familiar mustachioed faces in the desert, but a show isn't all they're in for that evening.
          
          Like I said in a previous post, named characters likely have a bigger purpose than what may first seem.
          
          I can't believe how close we are to the end of this current set of chapters! If you couldn't tell already, I plan to keep each batch around 13 chapters, and this is already the ninth chapter of this batch!
          
          This series is still so much fun to write. I can't wait to get to the end of this batch and start on the next!

Wanted #21 is out now! Titled 'One with Nature.'
          
          With rangers from the White Snakes hot on their trail, the trio makes it to Far Reach and investigates possible leads on Midnight. As per usual, they get more than they bargained for in a city unwelcoming to outsiders.
          
          This chapter is as action packed as ever. Honestly, action is the thing I struggle with most in writing, but this chapter's action sequence was very fun to write. There are lots of moving parts which made it very dynamic and entertaining.

Wanted chapter 20 is here! Titled "Troubling Twisters."
          
          Curtis, Sly, and Mabel discuss the dried up river in Bullwater with Minutes 'til Midnight and decide on the best course of action to discover the cause and any possible connection it may have to Midnight.
          
          Okay, okay, I'm a week late posting this after saying I was going to post chapters consistently every other week for the rest of this batch of chapters. Give me a break. The holidays are always messy. And I plan to release another chapter next week, so hopefully that makes up for it.
          
          I'm running out of things to say about each of these every time I post. Just go read the chapter! I don't want to spoil anything, but not is as it seems. Everyone plays a role no matter how small it may seem.
          
          Just be mindful of characters who might not seem significant, because if they're given a name, chances are they'll be important at some point even if it's not right away.

Wanted #19 is here! Titled "Rest and Retreat."
          
          After getting acquainted with Minutes 'til Midnight, Curtis and the gang spend more time in Rich River and appreciate the niceties and wonders of a modern town nearer to the Big City.
          
          Okay, I'm a week late coming back from hiatus, but I'm here with the next chapter of Wanted.
          
          I plan to get the rest of this batch of chapters out on a consistent schedule, so be on the look out every other week for a new chapter!
          
          I don't have a ton to say about this chapter. I will say that I intentionally made this next batch of chapters somewhat reboot the series as in take a step back and drop the overarching story for a bit to focus on a few more one-off plots like the beginning of the whole series did.
          
          The episodic stuff is lasting a little longer than I intended and I only plan for there to be 13 more chapters in this batch like there were in the first batch, but there will be plenty of time to develop more plot involving the doyen "Angel Eyes."

Chapter #18 of Wanted is here! Titled "Helpers in the Shadows."
          
          With the trio back together, they venture to Rich River and encounter previously unknown benefactors with similar goals in finding Midnight.
          
          This chapter marks a big step in the series. I won't spoil anything, but the people and concepts discussed change the perspective of our primary hero and make him question everything he thought he knew until now.
          
          Going forward, Curtis's goals and his idea of what he's really searching for will change to accommodate the new information he receives from friends, fellow travelers and outlaws, and his own observations of the world around him.
          
          The Valley Strip won't be the same for anybody, but Curtis especially will question if he ever even knew it in the first place.
          
          I also want to mention that Wanted will go on a brief hiatus. I'm taking the next month off to avoid burnout and plan out the rest of this batch of chapters. I still love this series and I don't want that to change, so a quick break will be good. If you want one more chapter, though, chapter 19 is already up on my website! ajmstories.com
