I am a rare book collector, writer, and an armchair philosopher. The Juncture is a novel that describes a-not-so-distant-future where minds can be copied and downloaded into new bodies to avoid death and received the 2014 SDSU’s Editor’s Choice Award. Is the copy truly the same as the original? The real life mechanics of a society built on the promise of immortality unearths the core of what it means to be human.
I cut my writing teeth with executives from Disney and DreamWorks. This experience taught me the importance of audience engagement, plotting, and the magic of a well-crafted ending. However, my desire to create internally motivated characters capable of exploring arcs beyond those at the habitual watering hole drew me to the art of speculative fiction. I’ve used my experiences in Hollywood, my training as a physician, and my love of antiquarian books to produce writing with a unique perspective on the human condition. I hope you enjoy my stories.
