Welcome!
I'm currently working on a novel called "Rules of Escape." It's a novel I've been writing and rewriting for several years. I'm still in the process of editing - every time I read what I've posted, I find more mistakes. Embarrassing, but anyway, please point out what I've missed.
"Rules of Escape" is a story about five people on the autism spectrum who are in care and their desire to escape the system and live on their own. It is also a story about the people who support them. This novel is speculative, science fiction that explores discrimination and injustices faced by the most vulnerable people in society, and the potential for genetic differences, sometimes called "disabilities", to be beneficial in terms of human evolution.
Occasionally, I write short stories. Check out "Ashes" - a story about a girl who clings to childhood adventures, dreams, and the love of her best friend, while using her imagination to help her understand and cope with reality.
I really appreciate constructive criticism. Thank you to those people who are taking the time to give me their suggestions and feedback. I try, as much as possible, to return the favour by leaving comments or suggestions. Although sometimes, I get so carried away by good stories that are well written, I just star the chapters as I read - there are some truly gifted writers sharing their stories on Wattpad!
Cheers,
Dawn
