It's how a person's brain is wired and working that is affecting his/her behavior and causing the symptoms of schizophrenia and multiple personality disorders. My mom, for example, struggles with schizophrenia. When we had her diagnosed, we could see a lot of unusual brain activity in certain parts of her brain, including her prefrontal cortex and temporal lobes. Help for this comes only if the person wants it and works for it.
