My favorite to read is Si-FY and romance.  Combine the two and you usually have a great read.  I can sometimes (most times;) be so involved in a good book, that the next thing I know the kids are home from school and the laundry is still not done.  Oh well, that is when I am doing several things at once trying to get homework, laundry, dinner and stopping fights.  When I get them in bed, then the book is back in my hand!
