Dromicosuchus is a youngish feller from the southeastern corner of the great Laurentian craton--or, since that covers an awful lot of ground, the SE United States. He is, for his sins, a worldbuilder first and a writer fifth or sixth, and has been working for approximately twenty years now (most of his life, in other words) on the creation of one particular world, in which most of his stories are set.  The First Law is his attempt to write a novel set in this world, and to do justice to its richness without overwhelming the reader with an infodump.  It remains to be seen how well he'll succeed at this task.  He is possessed of an overwhelming fondness for all things six-legged and chitiny, and is on generally good terms with most of the voices on his head.
