          This book follows the outlined plot of Dragons: Race to the Edge, but with so many added exciting twists that it feels like a completely original plot... It pretty much is because Race to the Edge is the setting, rather than the central plot. The reader is the plot, which is a refreshing change of pace from the standard Hiccup X Reader fic that just follows the plot of the movies. 
          The reader also has the option to keep the explicit scenes closed door if they prefer (through writer warnings and separate chapters), which I greatly appreciated. However, the decision to up RTTE to a more PG-13 rating outside of the explicit romance scenes and swearing (which fit right in because let's be honest, HTTYD would be a hell of a lot funnier if the characters, Hiccup in particular, were allowed to cuss) was needed and welcome.
          
          To the writer, fantastic job and I can't wait to dive into the second book! I legit CHEERED when it was published. Keep up the good work!

          This is an honest review of your work and I'm framing it as a PSA, as anyone who clicks on your profile can see it.
          
          To anyone who has clicked on this writer's profile and is considering giving "The Night Shifter" a read, do not hesitate.
          
          I've been on Wattpad for six years, am an avid reader insert truther, and when it comes to Hiccup Haddock X Reader stories, have read pretty much all Wattpad has to offer.
          The rankings don't lie, because a standard Hiccup X Reader story with a pretty much original plot has NO BUSINESS being THIS GOOD. There's chemistry, laughs, fourth wall breaks done CORRECTLY, and it's an overall smash hit of a read. Also, for Wattpad standards, the grammar, characterization, and literary device usage is really good (I'm a university student studying English, this stuff is my jam).
          
          This is my second time reading "The Night Shifter," as the second book just came out and I needed a reread to get back into the world. I'm enjoying it just as much, if not more than my first read. I've done a project where I ranked every Hiccup X Reader story I've ever read, and this book came out on top, no questions asked.
