So this isn't really related to anything but I just wanted to talk about it. I've recently been reading some reviews of horror movies (since I don't watch them but i'm still interested in wether they're good or not) and I was wondering if anyone can relate to this.
I've never watched a horror movie before. At least not a full on movie considered to be in the horror genre. I can watch things like Cinemasins and stuff review them, but I can't watch them. This is because almost every modern horror movie has tons of gore. I HATE gore in movies and live action TV shows. It's why I tend to stick to watching cartoons more than moving on to live action stuff that others my age are into like The Walking Dead or Game of Thrones. I'm too terrified of gore to watch them, slight blood and injuries is fine, but full on huge injuries and bleeding every ounce of blood from your body kind of gore is not okay. I hide under my covers and cover my ears every time it happens, I can't stand it. Even in shows like CSI or Law and Order when there's a murder and they investigate the body is hard to handle, especially if there's a necropsy or surgery needed. But, despite all of this, I've never batted an eye at animated gore. Shows like Hellsing, Corpse Party, Rick and Morty (to some extent), are enjoyable to me despite their occasional gore. I would watch stuff like Family Guy too if the jokes didn't make me so damn uncomfortable, I have to leave the room every time it comes on and someone wants to watch it. Anyway, animated gore is fine, and gore where I see the makeup being applied or I see that it's fake is fine too, it's just live action gore that disturbs me way too much. Is anybody else like this? I'm really curious to know.
