I lwk only like Zenichi (JJ) in the jap channel more than the English one. It’s because the original version actually keeps their dynamic making some fucking sense. In the jap version, Mikey isn’t some useless dumbass who ruins everything every five seconds. Yeah, he can be stupid sometimes, but he’s still got enough braincells to survive and notice danger at least half the damn time. That makes him feel like an actual friend instead of just a walking problem they use for shitty jokes. JJ, on the other hand, feels way more consistent in the jap version. He’s the worrywart, the one stressing and overthinking shit, but he still pranks Mikey but not always and this JJ doesn't snap at Mikey or yell at him.  In the English version though, it feels like they cranked everything up for no damn reason. Mikey gets turned into this full-time screw-up, and JJ loses that protective side and just becomes louder and snapping at Mikey more. It stops feeling like two close friends dealing with stuff together and starts feeling like two people forced to be best friends. I also think Mikey is way better in the Japanese channel because he actually feels like a character instead of just a dumbass punchline. In the jap version, yeah he’s goofy and makes mistakes, but he’s not some helpless idiot who can’t do jackshit on his own. He still has instincts, and sometimes even figures stuff out before things go completely to shit or before JJ (watch Chapter1 playlist on jap channel or ig the new english re-dub came out so yeah). That makes him feel like he belongs in the story instead of just being there to screw things up. In the eng version, it feels like they flattened him into this constant screw-up for cheap laughs. Like every episode he’s the one causing problems, falling for obvious traps, or acting like he’s got two brain cells fighting for third place. It just makes him look useless, which sucks because that’s not how he originally was.

grrhhmd, I want Maizen lore, but all Maizen is doing rn is security videos and JJ pranking Mikey all the time. It's getting annoying, I prefer to watch the Japanese Channel more than the English channel bc their videos are somewhat better and they have like more series'
