Congrats to all Amby Awards 2024 Top Picks! I was pleasantly surprised to see that CONDEMNED received a nod in the Paranormal/Novel category. She's a bit of a dark horse and has never won anything, so she and I are humbled and honored, and would like to thank everyone who has ever shown her some love.

@CarolKnox2 Thank you! It’s good to see you out and about. What are you working on these days?

Let me know when you have your first ONC chapter up.

Ha! All right. While reviewing the prompts at 4AM, I did come up with some semblance of a plan. Wasn’t sure I was going to this year, but what the heck. I’ll probably get something up next week. Are you already hard at work? Doing 2 this year?

Thanks, and thanks for asking. What are you working on at the moment? I have finished the 30-Day December challenge and wrote my longest piece of speculative fiction/fiction ever, The One Who Eats Dreams. I have started another project inspired by a prompt, a space opera meets action: The Cosmic Keystone: A Symphony of Stars. A huge challenge 15 Chapters each 1 500 words. Let's see how I go. Also, a fanfic which will be much shorter based on Cloud Atlas. The Archivist's Rebellion: A Cloud Atlas Reimagining. I got wildly inspired by the 39-day challenge, listened to my playlist throughout and really got into the world. I hope you are working on something too. Take care.

Thanks for the reply. Best of luck with your novel. Keep going and keep it up.
            Best wishes

@CarolKnox2 Impressive (as always)! I will peruse shortly. I don’t usually write short stories, not unless a prompt catches my eye and time permits, which it hasn’t. December and January have been tough in terms of progress. I am chipping away at the third book in my Fairy Tale series (offsite) and may at least consider ONC. The novel should take priority, though. I’ve shelved it too many times already. If I was good at juggling, I’d go for both, but I’m not convinced that’s a good idea yet. We shall see! Thanks for asking as well. I will surely see you around in 2025. Best of luck with everything!

Happy Halloween! I have a couple of bite-sized treats, if you have the appetite for it. "Carnevale" is COMPLETE, and "The Retch" will be posting throughout the morning.

I'm in the mood for candy, so if you have anything to share that's short and sweet and totally creepy, drop me a link!

Thanks for returning the follow!

@Fairytale_Fabler My pleasure! And nice, we definitely have a lot in common. I've always had a love for reading, but Dean Koontz quickly became my favorite author. His books are a perfect blend of everything I love in storytelling.

And no relation, though I am distantly related to Mark Twain. "Koontz" is my writer's pseudonym, in honor of my love for the author.

Happy to, @MDjarin17 . Thanks for reaching out. We have a lot in common--a love for Broadway, House Ravenclaw, and Dean Koontz. A zillion years ago, I learned from Koontz that reading doesn't suck. Any relation? A friend of mine used to serve him coffee in SoCal, so I was just wondering...

Thanks let's swop stories. Let me know what you submitted for the shortys. I look forward to it. Have a good day. :)

Sounds good. I entered “Carnevale.” Do you have more than one entry, and is “The Karoo’s Symphony” the one you’d choose?

"Where It Ends" has finally come to an end. There are five new "After" chapters, the "slow burn" gets hot and steamy (now Mature), and the detailed Epilogue (fifteen years later) will bring everything to a conclusion. Word count is now 64,300. It's well within novel range, and y'all know what that means!

Thanks for reading, everyone! And good luck to those of you entering the Wattys!

CarolKnox2

@Fairytale_Fabler Glad to hear that. I tried the acrostic poem, a lyric poem, a flash fic, and two short stories. I am loving that readers can participate and comment on the stories, it's wonderful! Thanks for the votes, feedback and support. Good luck I really enjoyed your story!

@CarolKnox2 Thank you and best of luck! You seem to have what it takes to do really well in these competitions. I'd say there's a certain mystery when it comes to winning, but keep trying and never leave empty handed. The genre thing is something I experiment with, too, and I never regret that. I usually end up loving everything I try.

@Fairytale_Fabler I enjoyed your story. I have two short stories the one is The Karoo's Symphony and the other is the Hare's Fable. Just checking how different genres do. This is my first time.
