@Mistergamer93 It’s explained in the history chapter that to end the war, Dragon slayers sacrificed themselves to lock every dragon in Lacrima. Once those dragon Lacrima are touched by people they blend into them and the ethernano of that dragon is given to the next born child of the person who touched the dragon Lacrima. While they are being born, they basically are in a metamorphosis like state where there soul interacts with the dragon’s soul that was locked inside the Lacrima, the dragon then teaches them how to use there Ethernano for there dragon slayer abilities. While in the Fairy Tail world it’s described as magic, Ethernano has shown to have a lot of scientific applications as well, so in the Toaru world it’s seen as its own unique system separated from magic and science. Ryujin, in the Fairy Tail world, would be seen as having multiple types of magic since Arcaino, the dragon king, had more then just one element: Fire dragon slayer magic, lightning dragon slayer magic, etc. However, since we’re in the Toaru world, Ryujin doesn’t refer to his power as magic and it is shown that actual magic is entirely different. If you want more information on Lacrima, Ethernano, or dragon slayer powers, you’ll have to wait for future chapters as I will explain them more in further detail.
