Oohhhh. Yeah I know that book. It's referred to by Jim's friends and family as "nothing here but lots of lies." Makes Jim out to be an insensitive, womanizing a**hole :/ I'd recommend "Break On Through" by James Riordan, "Riders On The Storm" by John Densmore (who by the way is incredibly nice) or the best option "This is the End my Only Friend" by Judy Huddleston (one of Jim's girlfriends.) Anything else is probably not true. The best way I learned about Jim is from going on The Doors forums and speaking to people who knew him. They have some great stories that aren't published and that show a side of him the biographies don't (the funny, lighthearted, easy going, generous side.) Also, listening to his interviews and reading his poetry is another great way to know what he was really like. (Sorry I get incredibly passionate about this if you couldn't tell. It's a good thing you didn't mention the Oliver Stone movie though or I'd be going on for days, haha.)
