Okay so: the relationship between the original Sherlock Holmes and Watson is SO. SWEET. I was reading a Holmes mystery called The Adventure of the Three Garridebs and a guy - not important who - shot at them and hit Watson's leg.
"I had a vision of him sprawling upon the floor with blood running down his face while Holmes rummaged him for weapons. Then my friend's wiry arms were round me, and he was leading me to a chair.
"You're not hurt, Watson? For God's sake, say that you are not hurt!"
It was worth a wound--it was worth many wounds--to know the depth of loyalty and love which lay behind that cold mask. The clear, hard eyes were dimmed for a moment, and the firm lips were shaking." And then later, Holmes says: "If you had killed Watson, you would not have got out of this room alive." I'M SORRY BUT THAT MIGHT BE ONE OF THE TOP THREE PLATONIC RELATIONSHIP MOMENTS I'VE EVER WITNESSED. ADORABLE. (And yes he is threatening someone else's life but it's a book, what can you do?) Anyway sorry this is so long but I simply had to share this
