Hello everyone!
I once had a conversation with a WP friend some time ago about vampires in other countries and one came to mind. For my Filipino friends out there, if you remember a show called " Maalaala Mo Kaya " (English translation = Do you remember?) hosted by Charo Santos, there was an episode where 5 friends went to a house that was said to be haunted. However, between the friends ... 3 guys and 2 girls, there were problems that occurred. One of the girls fell ill and died. Second, the remaining friends had a love triangle. The remaining girl who coincidentally shares my name was fought over 2 of the guys named Jon and Charlie. The third guy, Wilson, had to play referee in order to stop the argument. Thus, Charlie and the remaining girl decided to leave the house and return home. Now here's the haunting part = the caretaker told Wilson and Jon to never touch the hanging cloves of garlic in the patio, for there are "Aswangs" Ghosts and "Vampiras" Vampires that roam at night. When the caretaker left, the remaining boys got drunk and tore the cloves apart since they did not believe in what the old man warned them about. In short, that was not right. Next day, the two got traumatized. You could imagine what happened.
Now why I mentioned this was because I'm involving vampires in my story that speak Tagalog. This friend of mine asked if I could somehow bring that "horror". As I try to write scary stories, I don't think I have done well as other horror authors in WP. You can see that in my story of Piper, my short stories ... Twisted Dimensions, and Adversity Knocks.
In MoonBreak, ancient vampires chant in Pampanga (sorry if I wrote it wrong) a dialect in Filipino. I once was told there's an old dialect in Filipino and would love to figure what that is.
Many might not know, but as the years go by ... I like to revisit my birthplace. When I used to volunteer in a hospital, I remember taking an old lady who took me as I did not know my own culture.
