At the begining, you rock gently back in forth. After a gust of wind and a push on the back, you're off. Soaring away! Close enough too almost touch the clouds.
So you do, or at least you try to without letting go of everything. As you reach the peak you have the irresistible urge for one last jump to reach that highest point until a faint voice calls out "Don't! You could fall and hurt yourself!"
After a single second passes, your stomach starts to seize. Desperately running from, you making you feel nauseous and giddy. It's turbulent, sickening and absolutely horrible, but it's addictive. The next thing you know you are back to square one, ready for exact same scene to play out all over again. That's the joy and vigour you had when you were five and finally allowed to play on the 'big kid's swing'.
Somehow it's also a bit like life. Just a bit more unpredictable.
Auctually... Make that a lot more unpredictable.
Navigating the ups and downs has never been more confusing in a world with hundreds of acceptable options for a 'good life' that just never seem to fit.
Join me on a journey to obtain a mediocre yet fulfilling life, equipped with poor fitness, lack of motivation, severe job envy, limited social skills and a healthy dose of anxiety or depression on any given day.
