Writing for me is not about anything other than the simple amazing pleasure I get out of putting words onto a page and telling a story. By telling a story, I can become whoever I want to become, do whatever I want to do and simply enjoy that freedom I don't get anywhere else.
I am a 'freedom\emotion writer' - e.g. I write about subjects and things that make me 'happy' in so many different ways. In this way if I start off with a darker theme it is only because I wish to create a certain object or feeling that makes the world I write seem real and so make the happier scenes all the more bright. Like real life in a way.
The darker scenes are rare, as I do not 'like' to write them because for me writing is a free place that I use to channel emotion; I don't want to constantly be writing about a bad, dark place with angry or violent emotions - a book reflects the author. Scenes are intentionally written to make the reader feel something, this is more-so for the writer. Whatever I write I feel. And after all- I cannot promise you will always be happy because then you would not understand joy. For you only know sadness when you compare it to happiness. But if I can make your heart lighter, if I can make you simply feel better, if I can make you smile because you understand…
If I can make you smile, I will - I promise.
