I read this nice quote from a publishing house in my country, specialized in SF:
Imagine the whole humankind would exist entirely in a cave without exit. The classic writers would do a wonderful job describing the life and struggles in that cave, with amazing emotional impact. The Science Fiction writers would write about a life outside the cave.
