Any book really inspires me. Any story becomes my safe space but the person that made me fall in love with writing was Mr. Ngoima. He Dragged me out of my shell, beat (Beating was very legal in our school education system) me into bringing my imaginations to life and as a kid that was going through a tough life, it offered me a much needed escape.
I enjoyed Reading anything I could put my hand one but after he gave me the books (The Bristol murder, One about a supposedly murdered woman that was helping a PI solve her murder, the name escapes me, captured by raiders) I was hooked.
When I went to high school I was a crackhead when it came to writing short stories. Now am nowhere near the best or even the good but I love writing and I Ill keep writing as long as I like.
All thanks to the likes of Ben Mtobwa, Ngugi wa Thiong'o, John Kiriamiti, Harlequin publishers etc.
RIP Mr. Uncle Peter Ngoima. He was the one teacher that saw my potential and worked on it like his life depended on it.
An upcoming author, wannabe screenplay writer, play wright, editor among others, from the bowels of Africa.
