Hey, guys! Been awhile. Been a...lot going on.
So, in fiction- specifically romance- there’s a lot of misrepresentation of what a healthy relationship and recovery from toxicity look like. These can be fun to read, but provide a really bad and hurtful message on what abuse looks like and what recovering from abuse is. What people go through.
I’ve decided to try and do right by the experiences of myself and others like me, and write story that more accurately depicts abuse survivors and healthy relationship building. Everyone’s story is different, but I hope you can find comfort in Adrienne’s narrative.
This is a fictional story based on my own experiences and the experiences of people I know, and I encourage you to please read it and get it some exposure. Abuse is romanticized and trauma is often glorified. I want to be someone who does justice.
You don’t need someone to “fix” you. You are not broken. You can recover, and it’s okay to rely on others to help you. It’s okay to seek help. You are strong, and you can do this.
Thank you guys! I’ll be updating regularly from now on. This story is very important to me and I hope you can find something in it that strikes you.
