You probably won't believe it, but several years ago I had a dream about a woman I didn't recognize teaching something in a classroom. Now, I had deja vu. It's my English teacher. She's teaching how to speak English like you don't know how to speak English.

Jokes aside, how often do you experience deja vu? Recently, for me, I'm getting them a lot. It's such a strange thing, though, what does science have to say about it...

If you want to have OCD-like behavior, try miniature painting. At this point, I'm going to start carrying a ruler with me.

@wxldflowerrr Firstly, I already corrected myself just below my comment. And secondly, I know what people with OCD experience, from getting intrusive thoughts like self-harm or sexual thoughts to obsessions like needing to switch the light off because of an irrational fear and many more. I made a light-hearted comment about the detail-oriented nature of miniature painting by comparing it to the obsessive-compulsive behaviors in individuals with OCD. I didn't say all people with OCD get bothered by crooked lines, I only said "OCD-like behavior". In miniature painting, you need to be very careful, almost obsessive, to draw a line, for example. My comparison was to the obsessiveness. I'm glad you want to help people but it was out of place here. I'm not being ignorant about OCD, I'm only making a comparison. In literature, it would be called an exaggerated analogy. I'm exaggerating the detail-oriented nature of miniature painting by comparing it to a serious mental disorder, in order to make it clearer for you, not to undermine the seriousness of OCD. I hope you understand now, after I explained it all in great detail to you.

@HeartlessStarGazer I understand that you didn’t mean it as OCD, but even saying OCD like comes across as that you are using it as an adjective. OCD itself is not a personality disorder, OCPD is I think you’ve mixed them up and what you mean is OCPD. I’m not trying to cause an argument or make you feel misunderstood, but there is so much more to OCD than things being crooked or out of line, yes some people have those symptoms but if you actually understand lots of peoples compulsive behaviours go much further and different to those you stated. It’s not a need for things to look pretty. Or to be just irritated if they aren’t straight or neat.
OCD is a mental illness, OCPD is a personality disorder with excessive attention to detail and perfectionism. I think you confused these however let me know if not. Please love don’t take this as me trying to have an argument or in the wrong way I’m just trying to educate and help, I hope you don’t see it like I’m trying to upset you or anything xx

@HeartlessStarGazer I meant anxiety disorder, mixed it up with OCPD.

Umm...I'd make a terrible husband.

So, basically, yesterday, after a very long day at college (and extracurricular activities), I came home, telling my mother about a vase I'm working on and discussing the color palettes and designs on it. My mother asked me, "Do you have anything to tell me?" I thought, "What's she assuming about me *now* that I have to explain?" (because she has said a similar sentence to me, and the meaning behind it was, that she thought that I thought that I'm a boy stuck in a girl's body or that I'm lesbian, only because she found LGBTQ+ content on my phone. I was doing research on transgender people's psychology), but I told her no, asked her what she's expecting, about what, etc. She said, "Nevermind". Several hours later, because she had to go out, she had changed, and I complimented her look. Only then I learned, that she had cut her hair. And no, I didn't realize it, she told me that herself. Apparently, both my sisters noticed the change immediately, but me?

          I think it was funny.

@eternal_solace So when we say "objectively speaking", it's only a little speck taken from the whole baggage of the objective reality, of course, if it exists!

eternal_solace

@HeartlessStarGazer Which is what makes life so interesting. Even humans aren't objective, that's why we behave the way we do. We're all walking art lolol.

@eternal_solace Art, in general, is subjective. I think some would frown upon that, because they'd like to be told what it just means, but they should realize that no objective meanings give something many subjective ones.
