Wooohoo! I am done with the expansion of Compatibility Confirmed, which now sits at-- *drum roll* --47K words. 
          
          I'll be doing some edits in the next couple of weeks for the two stories I plan to submit for the Wattys. So, new chapters will be out soon enough.

          P.S. People will likely miss this announcement because of the new Wattpad update on notifications, which I hate btw. I wish they didn't move the announcements to the social feeds, tho it does make sense. But it just became harder for people to see because now they are getting buried under a lot of comments.

The ONC Round 3 results are finally out, and I'm so glad to share that Compatibility Confirmed made it to the Longlist.
          
          Biting my nails for the anticipated Shortlist! Gaah!

          On another note, I'm almost done with the expansion of Compatibility Confirmed. Currently at 41K words with 4 more chapters to go (offline). I'm taking longer than expected, but I want to be done before the week ends.
          
          Then I'll go back to A Heart for the Clockwork Curse for the final edits. And jump back again to CC for the same thing. And I hope to get the summaries done by the last week of Wattys submission. Gaah! It's such a tight schedule. I hope I can make it.
          
          Final chapters for AHFTCC and CC will be out soon.

@ZiggyCJ yes, post is gone. But missed to catch the username so I dunno if the profile is still up. I hope support also made sure to delete the user.

⚠️ WHAT IS HAPPENING ON WATTPAD!!!? ⚠️
          
          There has been a lot of scamming, hacking, and pirating going on around here. And we need greater community awareness to protect ourselves.
          
          1. Pirates have copied Wattpad stories and are selling them on Google Play Books for a toenail. If you haven't checked if your story is stolen, pls do so and file a DMCA. Just go to Google Play Books and make sure to search your Wattpad Username because sometimes book titles don't always come up in search results.
          
          2. There is a site called inknovl. It looks legit, but several writers on Wattpad also found their books pirated on that site, so pls check if your story is up there and file a DMCA.
          
          3. Hackers have been targeting discord. If you are friends with someone who has been hacked, you will likely receive a message saying they accidentally reported you and that you need to follow some verification steps. Do not follow their instructions and report them immediately!
          
          4. Scammers are directly posting on Wattpad message board saying that you will lose the ability to post if you don't follow a verification process. Do not click on any links they share and report them immediately!
          
          I have not shared any links here to avoid confusion. Search the sites for yourself.
          
          I'm sure there's more happening on top of the spam comments we're all getting. We're being targeted and we need to fight back (somehow).
          
          Pls. share the awareness by copying this post and posting it on your message board. And if you know any other fishy activities, feel free to add them to the list. 

Aaaand it's done!! A Heart for the Clockwork Curse is completed OFFLINE. But will publish it sometime in July for the Wattys submission. I'll also be editing the whole story for prose and grammar improvements, but it's basically done! 
          
          Keep an eye out for it!
          
          Now I can move on to the expansion of Compatibility Confirmed. I have about 4 or 5 chapters I want to write for this and edit as I go. Hopefully, I'll be done in 2 or 3 weeks.
          
          Wattys is getting closer. I'm wondering when the longlist for ONC will be out. I'm sure the judges are working hard, but I hope they get the results out in time before Wattys open.

@WendyyWolfe I'm with you! It's so bad that they took everything and published it as is just to make quick bucks. But we wouldn't have known if they had changed the titles and covers. Also, I'm keeping my author name. This isn't going to stop me from publishing with it. Not going to let them win. I hope you'll recover and feel better soon.

          Creeps all of them and a curse on their lives. Karma's hand will find them. I was traumatized and so hurt. I did a whole book on it. I want EVERYONE to know. I am paranoid as well. Honestly I won't republish. At least until I purchase a copyright for them. We shouldn't need to buy copyright but bad actors on the world stage makes it necessary. I just won't publish everything here anymore. And what made me mad is they also did it as is. I would not publish my own books for pay without extensive without editing my gosh. ಠ⁠,⁠_⁠｣⁠ಠ bc of that I feel I need to change my brand now too. I won't publish under this name bc if it. So now I'm researching a new brand name. Or will use my real name. Hold strong though Heide, we will overcome them and storm the gates! Karma is coming for them. And hell is riding with her!

I have good news! The pirated copies of my stories on Google Play Books have been taken down. Yay! Though I still don't feel so great about it. 
          
          Wattpad has content protection that restricts anyone from copying and pasting texts from the site, but with image to text tech becoming mainstream, nothing is stopping pirates from taking the stories published here. So, I am having seconds thoughts on publishing new chapters for my ongoing stories. I might not start any new stories for Wattpad anymore.
          
          Since I want to self-pub, I need to protect my content. I still want to join the Wattys this year, so any of my entries will be updated on the day when I submit and will likely be taken down after and depending on contest results.
          
          Unfortunately, this announcement spiraled from good to bad news. XD
