Hi All,
Just a little bit about me I live with my gorgeous supportive husband with our children. We have three beautiful girls. I have a Degree and Masters in Creative Writing. I also have a PGCE in Secondary English. I was an English teacher until Covid-19 hit. I have health issues (autoimmune) and my dream is to be a writer full-time (with a million other). I left school with poor GCSE results. I didn't know at the time that I had dyslexia and dyspraxia (this was only picked up at Edge Hill University). I started my studies later on in life (33). It was an uphill struggle for me as I didn't have confidence in myself and I'd never read any books for pleasure. I used to get bad headaches because the words would jump all over the page and I would see shapes that looked like moving rivers.
So I rocked up to Uni with lots of ideas, but no idea how I put them down onto paper. The creative writing team there are amazing and so supportive.
This is the first step into hopefully gaining in confidence with my writing I have never entered any competitions and I feel extremely vulnerable putting my writing out for the public. I figured it would be much easier to take criticism if I didn't know the person. My writing is always based around the human condition. What its like to be us, how we think, feel about ourselves and how we interact with those around us.
I really hope you enjoy my page.
Take Care
