I have always loved reading, writing, and making up bedtime stories. So hearing about Wattpad years ago seemed naturally curious to me. What really got my attention though was reading a few snobby articles last year, which portrayed Wattpad as a hub for amateur, grammar-imperfect nobodies. "That's me," I reluctantly confirmed and headed to Wattpad for further snooping. What I did not expect to find was a community of fresh, diverse, and creative voices. Reading your inspiring stories and posting my humble comments made me realize that amateur writing and/or grammar deficiency can be easily fixed with professional editing. But the core - your original story concepts, your memorable characters, and their captivating storylines - no professional editor or publisher would generate. So who wrote those snobby articles? A washed up professional writer running out of story ideas and jealous about your powerful story plotting? A 20th century brick-n-mortar publisher frustrated with the fact that creative writing is no longer "the old boys' club?" - I will never know. But I am certain about one thing - if Netflix, Amazon Video, Hulu, Disney+, etc. want more diverse content resulting in higher membership, then your Wattpad stories are an exciting universe to explore. :)
