Yep, graduated. HUAHUA. College hello.
It's been a while. How are you all? (for those even on here?)
I looked back a little and man... put simply, I dislike what I wrote. Not even the things I have drafted on my 300-400 page doc.
Perhaps my stubbornness has made me turn a blind eye to the issues I was running into when writing. Here's an analogy: I say I'd bake a birthday cake, but halfway through I realize it's turning out badly. I could deliver the bad birthday cake and make a poor kid unhappy, or I could give this task to someone else and sharpen my own baking skills to make kids happy in the future.
It's a learning curve, and I came out of my small hiatus perhaps realizing this curve to a fuller extent than I would have wanted a year ago.
I will be unpublishing some of my stories for the time being. Until I edit, or until I think this cake has saving. I know some people have enjoyed the tension in Aranya's story, and want to bring a "woohoo yay shadows! alive!" but that cannot happen today.
Thank you to everyone who's supported me. I will drop in with short stories, like the ones in my 2-part laughs collection. Until then~
@ItsMimerz Congrats Lil' Mimerz on your graduation! Onward towards college and beyond. Your writing is your own and however you'd like to bake it, do so. Also, sometimes the best desserts/baked goods are things that didn't turn out as the baker wanted but were then repurposed with other ingredients or foods to make a whole new delicious dish! Have fun experimenting however you wish. I look forward to whatever you'll share next.
@ItsMimerz congrats on your graduation!!! And it's alright, take your time to rediscover how you want your stories told — I struggled with that too and found the differences in past tense and present tense is rather surprising, so you could try that too, if it helps! The way you can describe things varies with the tenses, and I find I prefer present tense now, it's better for less chunky writing because you can break it up better even with descriptive writing of like metaphors etc. Nevertheless, the exploration journey is yours, so have fun! Will always be here to support, or if you need a chat or discuss some writing methods! :))))

December 9, 2021 Hello there @ItzMimerz. Joyfully glad to hear from you. Saddened to hear about your problems still unresolved? Pray for you for strength and comfort. Winter was here in Canada now, the city we're living, a windy city that never ends of windiness everyday even we've had chinooks and mild snow for the time being. Don't worry I can wait no matter how long. Be safe and take care of yourself first so that you can take care others.
@Siksika6060 Hello! You have no idea how much happier you've made me today. Thank you so much for sticking around and encouraging me on. I hope things are ok where you are– it sounds really tough (though I wish we had a bit of snow here!) Take care and happy holidays!!
Ooh new story. I'm still way behind even reading so you are miles ahead of many!
I see that you are a hetalian.
@ElaineNicole6 I finally realize why that comment never made it on the thread... turns out you posted on the wrong one bahaha.
Ugh, I feel you. I’m in week 13 of a 16 week semester, the finish line seems so far away
