Assalamu alaikum! I'm thrilled that you are reading my book and have voted on many chapters. The book is presently on hold until future notice.
I'm a revert too! In my early days before I informed my family, I did my prayers in my bedroom. Later on when I became more confident in my faith, I informed them about prayers, fasting and modesty in dress, etc. It took time but gradually they accepted it.
There are also people who right from the beginning after their reversion inform their families, do their prayers and change their mode of dressing with ease. I guess it would depend on the individual and what their own situation with their families is like.
I hope that this short reply helps. There are also excellent videos on YouTube that demonstrate how to pray your Salat correctly. I'd highly recommend that you check out the Jannah Institute for excellent sound courses on various topics in Islam.
May Allah SWT keep you steadfast on the Deen and May He ease whatever difficulties you may experience from choosing HIS path.
@Ja00614 You are doing the right thing since you are a minor. Allah knows your intentions and your condition. Always remain respectful to your parents. Show them the beauty of Islam in your behavior and let them wonder about positive changes in things that you do on a daily basis. This is especially true if there were some negative things that you did in the past. Hold onto the rope of Allah to see you through this trial. It is a trial and you will be rewarded every single day for whatever hardships you have to face. One day you will be old enough to leave their home and practice Islam openly In Sha Allah. I'm so proud of you and of your strength. May Allah SWT reward you abundantly!
@khadijaholmes Walaikum asalam thank you for the kind comment I can't stop grinning. I was praying in my room the other day when my mom walked in she kind of overreacted but I know that whatever happened was what Allah SWT had planned she later came to me and told me I will have to practice her religion as long as I'm under her and can only practice islam once I'll be leaving in my own house. Although I still try my best by performing sunnah and dressing modestly all I can do for now is make dua that Allah SWT guides my parents to our beautiful religion soon
