I breathe writing. I've read it, studied it, taught it, created opportunities to engage with it, and I do it for both work and pleasure.
I have written blogs, thrillers, romance, young adult, sci-fi, novel, short story, script and poetry and, if I'm honest, which I am, I can't stop.
As a female writer from a working class background, I am interested in voice, family, relationships, opportunity, life, disadvantage, disengagement, childhood, isolation, and much more besides. Through story, people can be seen, they can be heard and, sometimes, they can be set free. In as few as 500 words, or as many as 100,000+, story has the power, in that moment, to level the playing field. That's what keeps me writing.
I love nature, I love community projects that get people engaged and inspired - especially when the focus is writing. I love animals and nature (I said that already, but I like it a lot, so...), I love connecting, I love resonating and entertaining, I love providing escape and opportunity for reflection, and I love sitting still and in silence for long periods of time (my poor friends) just watching and feeling the world around me.
I hope to find people who love story (reading, writing, or both) as much as I do, and who want to share their reading and writing experiences with me. I'm always listening (but not in a creepy way!)
