An internationally renowned Rock Journalist, Grace Slick once told Jim Esposito he was "like the weirdest guy I ever met." A dubious distinction. Based in Florida and then Los Angeles, Esposito was published in Creem, Circus, Rock Magazine, Zoo World and Playboy. A student of Gay Talese and Tom Wolfe's New Journalism, Esposito wrote a number of insightful profiles, was known for his "on the scene" backstage reports, which often revealed a glimpse into an artist's personality rarely seen otherwise. His low key approach opened up artists such as Deep Purple's Ritchie Blackmore and The Starship's Grace Slick, who would not speak more than superficially to others.
Esposito dropped out of the Music Business to volunteer for the Mars Bio-Dome Project, later expelled for habitual unauthorized application of the hydroponics facilities. He disappeared under mysterious circumstances, discovered two years later wandering the beaches of Borneo in a confused state. Extensive hypno-therapy concluded Esposito had been abducted by aliens, but returned after proving unsuitable for any reliable experimentation. He then dedicated his life to an extensive in-depth study of the female orgasm. Esposito now works as the door greeter at the Walmart in Area 51.
An extensive archive of his rock journalism can be found at Rock's Back Pages.
In addition, his novels "High Fliers" and "Rock 'n A Hard Place" can be purchased at Amazon.
