I've been writing for a long time, since...probably the third grade, when I asked my mom if I could write a book.  Good mom that she was, she said, "Of course you can!"  So I did.  If I recall correctly, it was about a magic land to which animals could flee and be happy without us stupid humans.  From there, I moved on to bad fanfiction, your standard post-apocalyptic dystopias, and probably pretentious satire.  

My current works are a series about a spacefaring veterinarian, a novella involving a magical black cat and a misplaced dragon, and some shorter odds and ends.  Someday, when time permits (!!), I would love to write a biting satirical novel, or historical fiction about an ancestor or two, or maybe a steampunk crime novel.

My two favorite authors are Stephen King and Jim Butcher.   I'll read almost anything though.  My all-time favorite books are To Kill A Mockingbird, and Watership Down.  

Like my main character in the Dana Halliday series, I'm a redheaded veterinarian in the Pacific Northwest.  Unlike Dana, I have never met anyone from another planet (that I know of).
